Begin Anytime
- By Robin L. Graham
Now is the best time to begin rather than never.
When someone mentions they are too old to start a new hobby or activity, I have often suggested that they consider Grandma Moses as an inspiration.
I just got inspired by her again after attending her exhibition at the beautiful Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Read that again she started painting at age 78 due to arthritis being too painful to continue her life long embroidery.
Rather than stopping completely, she pivoted to something new. She had no intention of being a celebrated American folk artist. She first just painted as a gift to others. She continued learning by copying other works and exploring different styles. She eventually painted over 1500 canvases.
Her life included tragedy and hard work. In her autobiography, My Life’s History, she said “I look back on my life like a good day’s work, it was done and I feel satisfied with it. I was happy and contented, I knew nothing better and made the best out of what life offered. And life is what we make it, always has been, always will be.”
- How do you look at your life?
- Is there something in your life that you stopped doing for a particular reason?
- Did you pivot to something new?
- Have you had a curiosity about an activity you have never tried yet talked yourself out of even trying?
- What could you start now?
There is another story about a woman in her 70’s whose health was failing. She was challenged to start consistently exercising to prove if it would make a difference or not. She has now shifted her health, eliminated many physical challenges and completely reengaged in life.
Whether you feel you are too old, too young or not able to do something reconsider if that is actually true. What if it is possible for you?
What new perspectives or beliefs would support you in accomplishing what you think is not possible?
You don’t know until you try and even try again and again.

To get something different,
from the inside out.
If you have attended a PSYCH-K® workshop, then reflect, create the Goal Statements/ Beliefs to support what you desire, and Balance to integrate your new beliefs. Then take action to demonstrate your commitment.
If you have not attended a PSYCH-K® workshop, then use what you know to transform or contact me about my private session program or find a workshop and learn how to be free to create your future.
In working with me, what is appreciated is the ease and simplicity that the PSYCH-K® approach provides in transforming experiences that hold someone back and to be able to move forward.
